Gisela Huyssen, founder and pastor of the Leuchthaus, felt the call of God to go back to her hometown and start a church.  In summer of 2004, in obedience to God, she moved from the mission field in the Philippines to the mission field of her hometown.

The ministry in Bethesda and Springs of Living Waters consists of a home for unwed mothers, a long-lasting children's ministry, and a retreat center for the Pastoral Training Program.

Every week the Bethesda compound is fill with over 130 kids who come to be taught the Word of God.  This ministry is one way in which we reach out into our immediate community.  We are to be witnesses in Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.  There are a lot of needs even right outside the front door of our headquarters in the Philippines.

Harald and Toby Huyssen have been working on a new project. They both have a passion for music and worship, and want to serve the Lord and the local church in this area. The vision is to start to form a band (gloryfall) who will act as a training team for a school of worship.

According to a recent DAWN 2000 report presented to the Philippine Council of Evangelical churches, there are currently about 52,000 churches in the Philippines. 22% of them, that is 11,440 churches do not have pastors at all. Of the 40,560 churches that do have pastors, 44% of those pastors have never been trained! So, in the Philippines today there are 11,440 churches in need of pastors and there are 17,846 pastors holding churches, who need training.
