Banners Speak!
Posted on February 21, 2007 Each month, we put up a new banner in the display window of the Leuchthaus. We have been printing the banners at the local print shop that also where the local newspaper is written and printed. In December, the sign had Poinsettias in the background with big letters on it: “I came for you - God”. After the sign was printed, it was passed around the office for the employees to look at it. When my cousin Gabi picked it up the lady who handed it to her also wanted to see it. At that same time one of the managers walked in. His expression was: “Wow, I had no idea we are doing this! This is a very good statement!” Our signs are the talk of the town, I believe God is using them to stir and touch the hearts of the people in the Frickenhausen area.
We see people stand right in front of the banners and read them. No one can really get by without seeing the displayed message, since we are right at the corner of the only intersection with a traffic light. While being stuck at the light, bored, waiting, the banners speak.
Following are a few testimonies on how the banners have affected different people:
A lady, in an office, had many questions. I could tell she is not a Christian and what I am doing is new to her. She told me the she likes to sit at the intersection and read our banners. Sometimes on her way to work, the message touches her heart and she starts crying. Other times it just gives her strength for the day and she drives all excited on.
At a ladies breakfast a lady told me: “My kids and I are so excited about the banners and we wait for the new verses to pop up. We have a contest about who reads it first.”
Another one: “I never saw banners like that, which speak so clear about Christianity.”
