Many times we think that God only uses missionaries, pastors, or someone with a special calling to reach the lost. However, everyone has their place in the body of Christ, and it is the whole body that works together in unity to reach the lost for Jesus. Each person is vital to win the lost. Renate was sitting on a bench in the vineyards, when a very sad lady walked by. Being a nice German, Renate greeted her. They shared the bench and started to talk. The lady just opened up to her sharing her problems, her heartaches, and pains. Renate shared JESUS with her! She told the lady that she needs to get some good counseling and that Jesus has the answers to all her problems. Then she gave the lady my phone number. Some time went by and then I got a phone call from the lady. We met in the Leuchthaus. I got to meet a very sweet lady who had a very hard life. When she was small her dad mistreated and beat her and her siblings. For punishment she had to eat a rotten egg. If she could not swallow and had to vomit, she had to eat the egg and the vomit. She wanted to get away from that father. She got a boy friend and fell in love. They married and after her wedding she found herself with a husband who misused and mistreated her. She had two children and lived this life until the children were big. Then she divorced her husband. Shortly after that she found out that she has cancer. My heart went out to that Lady. I told her about Jesus and the big price he paid for her. I also told her that she needs to forgive her dad and her husband. I encouraged her with the Word of God and gave her a modern translation bible. Soon after that Josefine accepted Jesus as her savior. I explained to her that she is now God’s child, and God is her father. She gasped in excitement saying, “You mean I have a real father that loves me!” I also told her that since I am a child of God that we were now sisters in Christ. Her excitement could not be contained as she rejoiced and praised God for her new life and new family. She forgave her father and her husband. She loves to hear the Word of God and learn more. But she is a very sick with cancer. The doctors have no more hope for her. Her new family, the Leuchthaus, is staying behind her in prayer. Before she had to go into the hospital for her 92nd day of chemo, we laid hands on her and prayed for her. She had no bad reaction after the chemo Tuesday and was in the prayer meeting on Wednesday evening and in church on Sunday. She even did yard work. But last Monday she called me that she has really bad stomach pain and had to check into the hospital. One week in the hospital the pain is still strong and the doctors still don’t know what is wrong with her. Only Jesus can help her. We prayed for the doctors to have wisdom. This morning the doctors found the problem and could help her and she told me she is so happy. She is reading her bible and is learning more about Jesus who loves her so much. The church in Germany has become a place of hope for the hopeless, a place of love of the unloved, and a place to find Jesus, a new life and family. It would not be like that if it weren’t for each individual doing their part to spread God’s love. Josefine is today a child of God because Renate had the courage to talk to her! Renate is not a pastor, she hasn’t been to Bible School; she just loves Jesus. Your love for Jesus qualifies you to reach out and spread his love where ever you go and to whomever you come in contact with. It doesn’t take years of experience and training, all it takes is for you to be that member of the body who is willing and open to what God wants to do through you.
