In church Sunday morning Beate was all upset that the cake she made did not turn out. It did not rise. She invited a family of six as well as me for lunch and coffee. She had to throw it out. After church, she raced home to bake a new cake. The lady and I were sitting in the kitchen so we could talk with Beate while she was cleaning up.

Suddenly she realized that the baking powder package was still laying there, while the cake was already in the oven backing. She had forgotten to mix it in. She was upset and said now this cake will not turn out either. I told her that the Lord can put his heavenly baking powder in and the lady said that he does not even need to do that, he just needs to breathe a little on it and it will rise. We watched the cake with curiosity. It was rising up. It looked good and it smelled good.

When we took it out of the oven, it looked like a perfect cake and it did not sink in. We could hardly wait to cut it and see what happened and what it looked like on the inside. Also before the coffee time we cut one slice to see. Tears were in her eyes. We knew this was a miracle. When we finally got to eat that cake, it was a perfect cake – a heavenly cake!
