Corpus Christi Wheelchair Testimony
Posted on February 1, 2007 On October 18 th, I joined up with two others from my church in Tulsa,
and drove through the night to get to Corpus Christi, Texas. We stayed
there ministering for about four days and drove back to Tulsa through
the night on October 22 nd. The pastors we joined up with had scheduled
us to be the final speakers of a two-week tent revival. We also had the
opportunity to minister on the radio through out the days we were
there. When the body of Christ comes together in one accord Jesus is
there with them. When we all work together for the cause of Christ, to
reach the lost, we will see salvations. We will see miracles. We will
see signs and wonders like the days Jesus roamed the earth and when He
empowered the early Church on the day of Pentecost. That same Jesus who
healed the sick and raised the dead, is the same Jesus who said you
will do these things and even greater things because I go to the
Father. He is the same Jesus then as the one working in and through
your life right now.
There is no way to
explain everything that has happen while we were in Corpus Christi. It
is like a friend of mine said as he was running for Attorney General in
Oklahoma. “My job is simply to plant the seeds. My job is to plant as
many seeds as I can. From there it is Jesus’ job to bring the rain.” We
planted so many seeds while we were on the radio as well as when we
preached at the tent revival. Even now those seeds are receiving the
rain from Jesus and even more miracles and salvations are happening. We
saw a mighty move of God while we were there and in many cases where
able to see the fruit of our labor. I personally had the opportunity to
minister at a one-on-one level and bring two souls back into the
Kingdom of God. We were able to see changes in the physical appearance
in many people as we ministered to them. We saw the work of Jesus
showing in the eyes, and in there smiles. A lot of people took on a new
physical appearance filled with joy and the love of Jesus. I must tell
the story of the one particular person. While I was on the radio the
first day we were in Corpus Christi, I received a phone call for
prayer. The lady who called me had be paralyzed for 15 years from the
wasted down. I prayed with her and I felt that she needed to come to
the tent revival. I invited her to come and she told me she would try
to make it. She ended up coming the final night when I was preaching.
The message that the Lord gave me was that we have to “only believe.”
As I invited everyone for prayer the altar was filled. The Spirit of
the Lord began His good work and the people were touch and miracles
began to happen in their lives. Finally, the time came to pray for the
lady in the wheelchair. I began to pray for her, but God laid it on my
heart not to pray for healing. God gave a word for her, “you have been
asking for something for a long time, but tonight I am going to give
you something even better than what you have been asking for.” I asked
her to stay after the meeting so we could pray for her longer, she
agreed and we continued ministering to her after the meeting. As we
ministered to her, her husband stood nearby. The Holy Spirit began to
move, and to make a long story short, the Lord restored their marriage.
Both of them had come to the meeting heavy-burdened and depressed;
however, they left the presence of the Lord with Joy and a restored
marriage. All of a sudden I notice that the lady in the wheel chair was
rubbing her legs. I asked her if she felt anything, and she replied
that there was an intense heat running up and down her legs. It was the
start of her healing. Not only had God given her more than she asked
for, but he was giving her the very desire of her heart. As we left to
go back to the place we stayed this lady came to us and said, “The next
time you come back, we will jump rope together!” Praise God for the
work He does in our lives and the lives of everyone we come in contact
with!
I believe that God has the same word for all of us. He wants to give us far and beyond what we could ever dream or ask for.
