Could it be a Miracle? - Markus Huyssen
Posted on June 18, 2009 On Monday April 20, Bambi finalized everything we needed to do for our trip to Korea to conduct a family conference April 23 to 28. Everything was going great. We first had to pick up Bambi’s passport and visa and then make our way to the heart of town to pick up the ticket. Traffic was lighter than usual and we made great timing. When we came out of the airline ticketing office, I was thinking about our next stop on this day of errands, I noticed the car in front of me in this parallel parking slot was too close so I would need to back up to have the room to exit the slot. The problem was I did not look behind me as I began to reverse. I heard a terrible crunching sound as the car jolted to a stop. I went forward a little so I could assess the damage. As I stepped out of the car, the owner of the car I backed into, a brand new Honda Civic, which is a very expensive car here in the Philippines, also stepped out of his car.
To my shock and to his, there was absolutely no damage on his car. Not even the plastic license plate cover was scratched or damaged. My car however was a completely different story. The rear partition of the car was dented and creased the damage covered an area of about 18 inches long 6 inches wide and two inches deep. Since there was no damage on the car I hit the owner and I shook hands and parted ways. Bambi and I began praising and thanking God for his protection, because at this time are finances are very tight and at least we did not have to spend money to repair someone else’s car (Our car could wait!)
From there we decided to stop at one of the stores on the way home and get some things we needed and then have a quick lunch before picking up the boys from school on the other side of town. As we exited the store, Bambi wanted to visit the restroom so I went out in the parking lot to assess the damage. As Bambi approached from the front of the car, I asked her if she had seen the damage, to which she said yes its bad… I told her to have a look; there was NO DAMAGE ON THE CAR! I have always known that Jesus in my savior, he is my healer, he is my supply and source, but that day I experienced him as my mechanic. Our God is a God who is above the economy and circumstances of life. He releases His Word and miracles occur. In this time of economic down turn don’t try to figure out your next financial move, instead follow Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Listen to God and walk in obedience to Him. Trust God to take care of you and supply all of your needs, because that is what he promises in His Word!
